If this is truly the case, it is not surprising given everything we have
seen in the last several years. With all of the terrorist activity and the
many wars that continue to rage, it is not difficult to believe that more
and more people are finding it nearly impossible to be a part of the
everyday world.

For about thirty years, I showed, felt, questioned, and tried to
investigate what I didn’t realize were what 13 to 14 million people
experience in any given year: the signs of depression that have now been
studied, therapeutically dealt with, and successfully treated.
