| Educating Students with Traumatic Brain Injury |
|
As a result of the trauma, their brain does not work normally. Keeping in view the requirements of such children, school authorities and the government have collaborated and started dedicated teaching programs. Traumatic brain injury can happen to anyone in case of an accident that results in a head injury. Since children are in a stage where their mental faculties are under development, such injuries may lead to complications. As a result, teaching techniques and strategies used to teach children with inherent learning difficulties are also used for children with impaired brain functioning caused by trauma. Teaching these children is a specialized group effort in which parents, teachers and doctors are equally involved. Teachers recommend certain precautions to parents to enable them to handle such children. Doctors in turn provide help to provide therapy that is necessary to help the child adjust. Teachers practice mock drills in the school that prepare the children to face traumatic or life threatening situations. Related Articles |
