| Learn to Deal with Morning Stress |
|
1. Get Adequate Sleep: This is the first step towards having a great morning. Have at least six to eight hours of uninterrupted sleep in order to wake up with a clear and stress-free mind. Do not under- or over-sleep. Use an alarm to wake yourself up in the mornings. 2. Reduce Caffeine and Alcohol Intake at Night: Do not take caffeine at least 3-4 hours prior to sleep. It interferes with your sleeping pattern. Similarly, reduce intake of alcohol. The extra calories it injects in your blood keep you awake for a long time and you wake up with a hangover. 3. Minimize Your Morning Schedule/meets: Mornings should be work and stress free. However, most people have made it a habit to do office work even in the morning. This adds to daily stress in an immense way. You can control it by reducing the amount of work you do in the morning. 4. Do Some Exercise in the Morning: A workout session in the morning can help reduce morning stress. Light or heavy exercises can increase the flow of blood and hormones inside our body. This energizes our body and prepares it for dealing with struggles of everyday life. 5. Don't Forget to Take a Shower: Always have some extra time in hand to pamper your body. Take a cold shower if your physical condition allows you. It can bring your body temperature to optimal levels and prepare you for the rest of your day. Follow it up with applying your favorite fragrance/deodorant. 6. Have a Healthy Breakfast: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It can also help in reducing stress as well. Have a mix of carb and protein rich food (cereals, cornflakes, fruits, and other things) along with a cup of coffee or a glass of juice. 7. Avoid Going to the Gas Station in the Morning: An empty gas tank in the morning can sound like a death knell. Hence, get gas for your car in the previous evening. 8. Spend Some Time with the Family: A few happy moments spent with your spouse and kids can make the rest of your day. Spend at least 10 minutes cuddling up to them. Related Articles
