Essentially, Zoloft is an antidepressant and used to treat various conditions such as depression, panic, anxiety and the like. This anti anxiety medication falls into the category drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). This medication deals with the chemical imbalance in the brain and helps you overcome anxiety.

Usage
Zoloft should be taken in the same quantity as prescribed by the doctor as an overdose could result in irreversible side effects. Make sure to drink at least 8 ounces of water with the medicine. You can also take the medicine with or without food. It is recommended that you consume Zoloft anti anxiety medication at the same time of the day.

If you are using the liquid suspension form of Zoloft, make sure to dilute the liquid before you use it. You can use various liquids such as water, ginger ale, lemon, or orange juice to dilute the liquid. Be careful while diluting the medicine. * You may have suicidal thoughts initially on using the medicine.

* Zoloft is not approved to treat depression in children.
* This medication should not be consumed for people aged below 18 years.
* Avoid alcoholism when using Zoloft as it can cause certain side effects.
* Zoloft can counter interact with NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
