It provides you physical and mental relief and is very beneficial. The idea behind this technique is to jot down everything that comes to your mind. This is how you can go about it:

A) Buy a notebook or journal. It could be a multi-colored pages one or a normal one.

B) What is important is that you chalk out at least 20 minutes in a day to write your journal.

C) Now the big question is what are you supposed to write? You don’t need to think. Just write anything and everything that comes to your mind. It could be your dreams, your expectations, your aim, just about anything. Just write it down.

D) Jot down negative feelings, if any. There is nothing to hide and fear about.

E) Don't worry about your grammatical mistakes and do not try to censor what you write. Practice this daily and see how relieved you'll feel.

F) Last but not the least, keep your journal private.

It is simple to practice and does not require any professional help. As you are free to write whatever you want to write, this exercise would give vent to your personal feelings, thereby leaving you de-stressed.
