Yoga has been defined as the way to spiritual and psychological life. The history of yoga goes back to thousands of years in the Eastern tradition.

Meditation is a tool of yoga which also helps in managing stress. Apart from this, various breathing exercises and positions are there which could relieve you of stress. The Yoga Three-Part Breathing Exercise is really a helpful device. It is carried out as follows:

Part One:

A) Lie down on your back and relax.
B) Pay attention to the normal course of inhalation and exhalation. Do not let your mind wander over to other thoughts.
C) Inhale deeply through your nose.
D) As you inhale, fill your belly with air and let it stay there.
E) As you exhale, exhale even the slightest part of air and make sure that your belly is totally empty.
F) Repeat this five times.

Part Two:

A) Now again fill your belly with air. While it is full, inhale some more air and fill your ribs. Let them expand.
B) As you exhale, first throw the air out of your ribs and then your belly, contracting them one-by-one.
C) Repeat this five times.

Part Three:

A) Inhale and let the air fill your belly, then your ribs, followed by your upper chest.
B) As you exhale, first vacate your upper chest then your ribs and lastly your belly, contracting them one-by-one.
C) Repeat this ten times.

Thus you can practice this Three-Part Breathing Exercise and the relaxation that you feel, thereafter, is something better experienced than read.
