People employed in such professions have compassion fatigue. Compassion fatigue is suffered by any profession that involves caring as part and parcel of the job. As per the recent terminology as per the physiological research and development program at the university of Florida, this type of stress is given the new name called compassion fatigue. Compassion fatigue has become a common source of stress in the people in the area of any sort of profession which involves caring for others. This stress factor may develop when you are dealing with clients. It may happen when you are dealing with people who have suffered a misfortune. Compassion fatigue results in a lack of enthusiasm or lethargy which prevents effective functioning. Compassion fatigue comes with major signs and symptoms. It mostly happens when the person is preoccupied with work. The person reaches a state when it becomes quiet impossible to think or talk about compassion fatigue. In compassion fatigue, the person finds it difficult to sleep. The person feels listless and wants to avoid work. The person also may feel that the work he or she is doing futile. This leads the person to a state of anxiety and depression. The person always feels tired to do any kind of work. To cope up with compassion stress, you need to be gentle in many matters.
